Our take
As a CR7 fan and Mercurial collector, I jumped at these vintage Vapor IX SG-PROs. The purple and CR7 detailing are loud and iconic—definitely a conversation starter. On the field, the SG-Pro studs provide excellent traction on soft ground, and the ACC does seem to help in damp conditions. However, these are from an older generation, so the upper is a stiffer synthetic compared to modern Flyknit boots. The fit is classic Mercurial narrow; at size 7.5, they fit true but could pinch if you have wide feet. At $150, you're paying a premium for rarity and nostalgia rather than cutting-edge tech. If you want a piece of soccer history that also performs, these are worth it—but don't expect modern comfort.
